It has been a while since my last post but those familiar with the site have probably already noticed one of the reasons...This site has recently undergone a major reworking. Many of the features that were missing in the original version of the site (such as commenting) are now available. It is not required to register in order to post comments on articles but I do recommend doing so. If you're worried about privacy, don't worry, I won't send you any e-mail and all passwords are salted and hashed before being stored in the database. Also, if you use an RSS aggregator, be sure to check out the RSS feed.

I will be adding some functionality for registered users including comment history and some extra bio information.

With this redesign I have migrated away from using table a table-based layout. Nearly all of the formatting on this site including page layout is accomplished with CSS. Initially I was having trouble getting the stylesheet to function across browsers but then I found that if I replaced the DOCTYPE that Visual Studio 2003 uses by default to:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"

By merely changing the DOCTYPE, the CSS renders nearly identically between IE6 and Firefox.

Hopefully you will find the new design easy to use and the site content beneficial. There may still be a few places that are a little rough around the edges so if you have any suggestions on how I can improve the site, please send them to me.

[8/13/2005 Update]
Even though I just relaunched this site I decided it needed a little more. If you have been here since I launched this, you have undoubtedly noticed that I changed the layout again. I'm MUCH happier with the new layout but registered users may switch to the old. I'll probably create more layouts in the future, particularly if I get bored.
